Pierce is a bold psychological study rendered in fractured planes of color and emotion. Samdi divides the figure's face between shadow and light, using deep indigo, ochre, and violet to articulate a dual identity - part human, part mythic. The figure's bowler hat, angular suit, and haunting asymmetry evoke both modern existentialism and Vodou mystique. Beneath the abstraction lies a palpable sense of transformation, as if the sitter oscillates between mask and revelation. Samdi's palette vibrates with tension, while his thick, expressive strokes suggest introspection through fragmentation. Pierce is a portrait of spiritual multiplicity - a meditation on the many faces one must wear to survive.

SAMDI is a contemporary Haïtian artist based in Port-au-Prince, Haïti. His work is described by the artist as Sen Soley. Painting from a rhythm. A space where self is looking inwards and possibilities are endless. His work consists of cubist style portraits and a semi abstract approach to figuration. Self exploration and the understanding of the spirit as a human in this space are at the core of SAMDI's artistic practice. His work can reflect deep emotional trauma and at the same time express the beauty of love. The artist lets the audience be the author of their experience as they have to search inwards to make sense of what they are viewing or feeling. SAMDI has had numerous international group exhibitions.
